Thrust ball bearings are suitable for the accommodation of axial loads in one direction and can locate a shaft in one direction. They cannot be sujected to any radial loads. The bearin comprises a shaft washer with raceway groove. a ball and cage thrust assembly and a housing washer with a raceway groove.

推力球轴承只能承受轴向负荷，不能承受径向负荷，只能作轴向定位，不能作径向定位。因此需与向心轴承配合使用，且允许转速较低，不能用于高速旋转的机械。
